What is a Thyroid Scan?

This scan usually looks at why your thyroid gland is overactive.

How do I prepare for a Thyroid Scan?

There are no preparations. Please let our staff know if you are taking any multivitamins or medications for your thyroid.  Please also inform us if you had any scans that involved an injection or a drink of contrast in the 6 weeks prior to your appointment.

What happens during a Thyroid Scan?
